Sunny Side Of The Street Landscape Print

from £30.00

The Beehive is a public house on the corner of the Cloth Market and High Bridge in Newcastle. It was built in 1902 and has a traditional long bar.

Such an iconic pub that if you come from around Newcastle you would recognise this straight away, I have painted this showing the sun on one side of the street hence the name, and on the other side is the beehive hotel. I placed figures in my painting to show scale and tell a story that the old man coming out of the pub has had a couple with his old pals and now on the way home to his wife. the guy at the front is just taking in the fresh air with his newcastle brown ale stood waiting to be drank. of course a pub wouldnt be a pub without a smoker who has to go outside to take a few puffs and enjoy the summe sunshine.
